Your Own Personal Home Garden

by John Yazo

Organic gardening, a rewarding hobby that can have many benefits like fresh crops of flowers, fruit, herbs and vegetables. Growing your own crops with natural methods is not only healthy for you and your family, it is also healthier for the environment along with being cost efficient.

Gardens can be designed in many different ways, containers, raised beds or the traditional row methods. It is really a personal preference on the method you use. There are a few things that need to be thought through before you start, light, soil and water. With these three major components you can grow a garden that will provide you with the rewards that can only be had from only a home garden, fresh healthy crops picked from your own personal gardens.

If you are new to gardening, don't be afraid, start out small and expand your garden or gardens as you feel necessary. A small garden is easier to maintain and when incorporating methods like companion planting, crop rotation along with succession planting, you can grow enough crops to keep you supplied throughout the growing season.

Succession planting is the ideal method to use when limited space is the reason you haven't, but always wanted to grow your own personal garden. It is also a method that when planned out properly will create a healthy environment and improve your gardens soil structure, allowing your crops to thrive. A healthy garden soil is the key to having a healthy garden. One that can supply your plants with the nutrients they need, retain moisture, and drain well.
