A soils quality is determined on how well it does for the specific function we want it to preform. When organic gardening, the soil quality we want is one that has a well managed ecosystem. Organic matter to supply the soil food web to maintain the soils biology is very important.

A good healthy organic soil also is one that retains these nutrients, moisture and drains well.
Humus or composted organic material is full of natural nutrients and the ideal food source supply for the soil food web. It is the key ingredient in creating an environment that will provide a healthy soil structure and allow the natural organisms in the soil to benefit from. They are what work the soil and convert minerals into a form of nutrients that plants can benefit from.
The use of humate soil conditioners are a great way to improve any type of soil, along with amending the soil with organic matter. Keep the soil food web in your garden alive and healthy so it can create a natural environment in your yard and garden.
