Saving Annual Seeds - Saving Your Own Seeds is Easy To Do
by John Yazo
Annual seeds are from vegetables such as beans, peas, pumpkins and corn that produce seeds every year. To get seeds let them over ripen on the plant and the seeds will be mature enough to harvest. Open the vegetable and let the seeds dry out so you can pick them. Then place the seeds on a brown paper bag to completely dry. You don't want any moisture in the seeds or they will mold and spoil. Once the seeds are completely dry you can package them in paper envelopes, label them for storage and to be replanted in the years to come.
Seeds from crops like tomatoes that have a pulp around the seed you have to wash the pulp away to collect the seeds. This can be done by simply breaking down the pulp with warm water and diluting int away until the seeds break away easily. Once the seeds are collected lay them out to dry before packaging them for storage.Saving seeds is cost effective and you will know what you are planting.
