Permaculture - Nature's Garden
by John Yazo
A way of gardening with nature, permaculture gardening uses techniques and practices that combine the best of nature and it's wildlife to work together. There are several methods that can be incorporated in this type of gardening and they are all methods that nature uses naturally in the wild, companion planting, edible landscaping, composting and native-plant cultivation are just a few that will form your garden into a low-maintenance, self-contained productive ecosystem all in it's own.
A permaculture garden has many functions, it is a self-contained world all in it's own. A place that grows a thriving crop, flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruit are all included, and naturally benefits the health of these plants and the environment. This self-contained environment is a place that will attract wildlife of all types, this wildlife can be insects or animals, along with the organisms that live in the soil that we can't see, they all have there own benefits and place.
Creating an environment that will take care of itself isn't that hard to do. With a little planning you too can have a healthy garden that will provide thriving crops and be healthy for you and your family. The use of chemical can destroy the natural life in your gardens soil, this natural life is what works and fertilizes the soil naturally for your plants to benefit from.
Nature has it's own creative way of keeping the environment clean and safe without the use of chemicals. Watching and using these same methods in our everyday gardening practices will also keep the air we breath and the water we drink clean.
