Perlite
Perlite is a volcanic mineral with unique characteristics. It is sterile, free of disease, has a neutral ph level and has been used for many years as i soil amendment along with peat and bark. Perlite has the ability to provide aeration, drainage and retain moisture which is released as it is needed for plants root systems to feed off of.The surface of perlite has cavities. these cavities are what gives it the ability to hold moisture and nutrients.
Many of the common uses for perlite are soilless potting soil mixes, seed germination, transplants and hydroponics.
Perlite is a superior soilless potting soil amendment and is usually readily available at most of your local garden centers.
