Hibiscus
Hibiscus
can be either tropical or hardy in variety. The most common being
tropical, hardy hibiscus can survive outdoors in zones up to zone 5.
Tropical hibiscus plants like warm temperatures and are suitable to be grown indoors. Growing hibiscus indoors is not very difficult and they can live a long productive life. It is not uncommon for a hibiscus to live thirty, forty years or more with the proper care.
Hibiscus need light, but more important they need warmth. The soil they like the best is a loamy soil with organic matter that is well drained so the soil doesn't retain to much moisture between waterings. They also are heavy feeders and like a regular weekly feeding during there growing season of March thro
