Garden Soil Test Kit

They key elements that create a healthy soil in your garden are nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and the soils ph level. When the ph level is not in balance the soil can not produce the nutrients that are needed for a healthy plant life.
Testing your garden soil is simple and can be done with a soil test kit that can be purchased online or at your local garden center. The test kit comes with directions, test tube , solution and a color chart. You simply put your soil sample in the test tube, add a few drops of solution and shake it up well. After you shake the sample and solution you leave it for about an hour to settle. After everything settles the solution will have changed color and you compare that color to the chart that was supplied in the kit. This will let you know the ph level of your soil and you can adjust the soil with amendments accordingly to create the optimum ph level for the crop you are growing.
