Compost Tea - A New Generation

Compost tea is a liquid extract of compost and is gaining recognition, along with acceptance by many homeowners and commercial growers due to the facts of its ability to stimulate soils biological activity. The improvement of soil structure, and the enhancement of the overall plant health and vigor is the key to having a successful organic garden. There are reported benefits that the use of compost teas include enhanced disease suppression, along with reduced fungicide and fertilizer requirements that are associated with cost savings.
Research is continuously going on to validate these benefits. In the compost industry, the term "compost tea" is used in reference to a process know as aerated extraction. Historically, this term " has been used to describe an extraction process that may or may not have included this active aeration process. Until recently, mostly all the published research about the benefits of compost teas were related to a non-aerated processes.
The use of tea made from in your organic gardening practices is a great way to help improve the soil structure of your garden and add the natural nutrients that your plants need to thrive. Having many of the same benefits of compost, compost teas can be applied directly to the plants foliage or applied directly to the soil, both ways having there own unique benefits.
There are a variety of composting tea systems on the market today, and of them with a variety of features and capacities that reflect the growing demand of the users needs.
